Kirkliston Garden

The Gardens&Projects' Tuscan roots clearly influence all my designs. That is why this project also subscribes to the principle of "form follows function". The client's desires for the space was to have an intimate outdoor space that can be used for all day activities, including outdoor cooking, dining, lounging and playing area for the entire family.

The Outcome

The structure of the space comes from Buxus Domes, Hydrangeas, and Trees. The Astrantias, Verbenas, and Grasses provide sprays of delicate flowers and, in the summer months, White Foxgloves and Alliums make a show. Golden Deergrass and Boxwood Topiary Trees are the backdrop to the scheme.

The Patio is ample with plenty of space to relax and dine Al-fresco with the sound of water from the fountain in the background. Also, the clients' desire for privacy was marked by Quercus Ilex Pleached Trees espalier trees. And, the existing Pine Tree was integrated with an ample Scottish Larch seating area, a space designed for children in particular.
